Sting

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner was born and raised in Wallsend. It will then be known to the whole world under the pseudonym Sting. In the meantime, he is a naughty boy from a poor family.

Wallsend is a small town that has spread to the north of England. Since it was washed by the North Sea, one of its industrial attractions was the port and coal mining mines. Therefore, Sting recalls his childhood in two colours: grey and black. Gray is the colour of the cold sea. Black - soot from coal mining. Around everything was covered by the post-war crisis, the ruined ships and drunkards of local bulk drinks. This time was the darkest of his life.
Sting was educated at a Catholic school, where the assault was welcomed as a method of education. The boy, whose temper was impossible to curb, got the most.
At the age of ten, Sting acquired his first guitar. This date was the beginning of a creative journey. The tool was presented to the boy by his uncle. Parents immediately noticed the talent of the child and gave it to paid music lessons. The cost of tuition was high for the family. But soon the teacher himself refused to work with Sting, saying that the boy is uneducable. Probably, few teachers knew about the individual approach then, and Sting just wanted to compose his music, and not to memorize classical studies.
To help the financial condition of the family, the boy began to help his father, who from a locksmith was retrained as a milkman, as it was more profitable. Along with this, Sting played in a school football team at school, broke a school record in the 100-meter run and helped mom raise her younger brother and two sisters.
At a young age, Sting is genuinely interested in literature, the love of which his grandmother instilled in him at the age of five. After graduation, the guy continues to study at a teacher training college.

Career

After graduating from college, Sting works in his speciality. To distract from the everyday life of the teacher, he goes to rehearsals of one big band. There he meets drummer Stewart Copeland, who was looking for musicians for his band. Thus, in 1977 a team called The Police was created.
This case will then lead the guy to worldwide fame and give him just the same pseudonym - Sting.

Sting alias history

Then the guy often wore a sweater with orange-black stripes. In Stuart Copeland, he caused associations with a bee. And so the short pseudonym “Sting” was born, which means “sting” in translation.
But the problem was that such a pseudonym already existed in the sports world. He was worn by Steve Baudelaire - a famous wrestling player. The alias had to be redeemed.
At the very beginning of the career of The Police, the musicians had a hard time. But after an advertising contract with Wrigley, which invited the band to whiten their hair, made the team recognizable.

This was followed by the first album, success and worldwide fame. It is this group that we should thank for the birth of such hits as:

From the very beginning of his career, The Police has collaborated with A&M Records.
At the peak of the band's fame, Sting decides to leave the group. As the singer himself said, he saw a prophetic dream that prompted to change life and its direction.
The date of 1984 will be the beginning of a solo career as an artist. Sting will call his first album “Dream of the Blue Turtles”. And all because in his prophetic dream the musician saw precisely them.
For more than 35 years of his independent career, the singer has 14 studio albums. Sting writes their songs and entire albums all on the same A&M Records label.

In addition to his musical career, Sting is quite successfully filmed in films. His acting skills can be seen in such films as:

Personal life

During his life, Sting had two marriages. From the first with actress Frances Tomelty, he has two children - Joseph and Katherine.
But Sting got his real family happiness with actress Trudie Styler. Now the couple has four children - Mickey, Jake, Elliot and Giacomo.
The couple is quite actively engaged in organic farming, produces its production of olive oil and wine, are engaged in philanthropy, and even organized the “Rainforest Protection Fund”. They love to travel in the picturesque parts of Europe and South America.
